Barbara Ann Harbaugh

December 26, 1938 — December 21, 2018

Elkhart

Her journey began on Dec. 26, 1938 in Niles, Michigan. Barb’s final journey took her to heaven on Dec. 21, 2018.

She was the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Wolford) Vore.

Barb graduated from Niles High School in 1956, where she met the love of her life, Phillip A. Harbaugh. They married on Dec. 28, 1956. Together, they created and loved their most important treasure, their family, daughters, Vicki (David) Myers and Sue Branson (the late Wade Branson); son, Robert (Lisa) Harbaugh; grandchildren, Heather (Shawn) Turner, Holly (Russ Claxton) Branson, Crystal (Dan) Piehl, Jason Myers, Bradly Harbaugh, and Amy (Zach) Moffet and great grandchildren, Colin and Jake Turner, Adam Whitehead, Dylan and Riley Piehl, Ethan Myers, Penelope Moffet and Tommy and Isaac Claxton.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard and Ronald Vore; sister, Mary Ellen Word and son-in-law, Wade Branson.

Barb and her husband retired from Concord Community Schools on the same day. Nothing was more important to them than spending time and making memories with their family from traveling to Disney World, Estes Park Colorado, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, traveling throughout Michigan, sharing holidays, birthdays, enjoying backyard pool parties, camping, watching family sporting events, and quiet times at home.

Also dear to Barb’s heart was her church family from River Oaks Community Church. They often volunteered, enjoyed their small group, helped at Church Community Services, and worked on the Hugs Project. Barb spent her life helping others, including ministering to others through Stephen Ministries. Barb once told her husband, “The only one I love more than you is Jesus.” Barb lived her life through her faith.
