Barbara "Barb" A. Troyer

Barbara "Barb" A. Troyer, 64, of Goshen, passed away Friday November 14, 2014 at Greencroft Healthcare after battling cancer for a year. She was born January 9, 1950 in Sturgis, Michigan, to Perry "Pete" and Effie (Yoder) Troyer. Survivors include her mother and a sister, Brenda (Terry) Zimmerman, both of Goshen, and two brothers, Marvin (Quoda) Troyer, of New Paris, and Mike Troyer, of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her father. A lifetime Shipshewana and Goshen area resident, she was a member of Prairieview Missionary Church and a 1968 graduate of Bethany Christian High School. She baked bread in her family's restaurants, when they owned Troyer's Restaurant and Cafeteria, Shipshewana and Linway Family Restaurant, Goshen. She also worked at the Adam's Store in Goshen for 17 years catering to area Boy Scout troops, and later worked at Greencroft in food service for 13 years. She volunteered at the Goshen Hospital, serving in the gift shop. She was known for the birthday and anniversary cards that were faithfully sent to her family and friends. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Friends and family will meet at Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana for a 9 a.m. burial Monday, Nov. 17, 2014 followed by an 11 a.m. memorial service at Prairieview Missionary Church, 2612 Dierdorff Rd., Goshen. Rev. Phil Jerome will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to the church or Faith Mission, Elkhart.
