Asa I. Cervantes

Asa I. Cervantes, 77, of Goshen, died Sunday morning, December 11, 2016 at the home of his daughter.

He was born September 3, 1939 in Saginaw, Michigan to Jose and Esther (Verduzco) Cervantes.

On August 15, 1959 he married Manuela Davila in Saginaw, Michigan.  She died Dec. 18, 2015.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Garcia of Elkhart; three sons, Asa (Trini) Cervantes, Jr. of Austin, Texas, Daniel (Sheri) Cervantes and James (Kathlean) Cervantes, both of Goshen; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Gonzales of Elkhart and Deborah Cervantes of Saginaw, Michigan; and a brother, Ralph Cervantes of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mona Valenzuela; and 11 siblings, Esther V. Cervantes, Jose M. Cervantes, Salvador Cervantes, Francisco Cervantes, Angel Cervantes, Carlos Cervantes, Pafirió Cervantes, Raul Cervantes, Velia Cervantes, David Cervantes, and Robert Cervantes.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Community Church of Waterford, 65154 C. R. 21, Goshen.  Pastor Chris Russell will officiate.

Burial will follow at Hess Cemetery.
