Arthur E. Loutzenhiser, Sr.

Arthur E. Loutzenhiser, Sr., 72, of Goshen, died Sunday evening, December 31, 2006, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse, where he had been since October 13, 2006. He was born on July 2, 1934, in Auburn, Indiana, to Arthur Leroy and Mildred Juanita (Kline) Loutzenhiser.  He was married in 1957 to Shirley Harrell.  They divorced in 1975.   He had lived most of his life in this area and had worked in carpentry for many years at Shasta in Goshen.  He enjoyed carpentry, especially building boats.  In his younger years he also enjoyed oil painting.   He is survived by two daughters, Lenore (Barden) Cripe and Rebecca Y. Loutzenhiser, both of Goshen; a son, Arthur E. (Jane) Loutzenhiser, Jr. of Ligonier; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, JoAnn (Larry) Dial of Montana; and three brothers, Edward Forrest Loutzenhiser of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Calvin (Judy) Loutzenhiser and George (Linda) Loutzenhiser, both of Elkhart.   He was preceded in death by a brother, Garth Loutzenhiser.   Friends will be received 3 to 4 p.m., Friday, January 5, at the Who So Ever Will Worship Center, 2819 S. 6th St., Elkhart.   A remembrance service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2007, at the Who So Ever Will Worship Center.  Pastor Ira Crise will officiate.
