Arthur R. Baer, Sr.

Arthur R. Baer, Sr., 92, of Ligonier and formerly of Middlebury and Goshen, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Avalon Village.

He was born May 22, 1929, in Goshen to Charles A. and Trella M. (Workman) Baer.

Survivors include two sons, Chuck (Frances) Baer of Middlebury and Art (Ronda) Baer, Jr.  ofGoshen and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ed Baer; a great-grandson, Chuck Baer; three sisters, Mary Detweiler, Elizabeth Garner and Isabelle Larrabe; and five brothers, Charles, Ora “Dan”, Floyd, Paul and Owen Baer.

Mr. Baer served with the U.S. Army from 1946 – 1949.  He was a member of First Brethren Church, New Paris; the American Legion and DAV.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 24, 2021, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a 10 a.m. Monday, October 25, funeral service will be held.  Pastor Jeff Estep will officiate.

Burial, with military honors, will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.

Memorial donations may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
