Arneal L. Brinkerhoff, 89, of Elkhart died Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born Oct. 8, 1928 in Jefferson Township, Elkhart County to Gordon and Oral (Rodebaugh) Simmons.
On June 12, 1946 she married George Brinkerhoff in South Bend. He died Dec.25, 1977.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan Yoder of Angels Camp, California; a son, Robert (Brenda) Brinkerhoff of LaGrange; five grandchildren, John Friend, Robert (Ashley) Friend, Samantha Friend, Megan Yoder and Cassandra Yoder; a great-granddaughter, Olivia Friend; a sister, Sally Simmons of Goshen; a brother, Roger Scott Simmons of South Bend; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Jerry and David Simmons.
Mrs. Brinkerhoff worked at Penn Electric, Goshen and CTS, Elkhart prior to retiring as church secretary from First Congregational Church, Elkhart. Arneal was a world traveler, exceptional baker and cross-stitcher extraordinaire.
Friends may call Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen where a 10 a.m. funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Rev. Terry Tyler will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
