Arlowene A. Lambert

Arlowene A. Lambert, 91, of Goshen, died Tuesday afternoon, September 30, 2008, at Goshen General Hospital. She was born in Elkhart County on July 14, 1917, to Samuel and Nellie (Swinehart) Prough.  She married Gabriel L. Lambert on June 19, 1938 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.  He died November 8, 1996. A homemaker, Mrs. Lambert graduated in 1935 from Millersburg High School.  She worked for more than ten years at Harlan’s Dress Shop in Goshen.  She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen. She is survived by a daughter, MariLynn (Dan) Lynn of Shipshewana; two grandchildren, Andrew Lynn and Dr. Lisa Lynn, both of Shipshewana; and a brother, Joe E. (Roann) Prough of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel; and three brothers, Jay, Charles and Robert Prough. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 2 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A Friday, October 3, 2008, funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. John Hickey of Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen, will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
