Arlene G. Hoover

January 28, 1927 — December 6, 2017

Arlene G. Hoover, 90, of Goshen died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Courtyard Healthcare.

She was born January 28, 1927 in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska to Ezra and Flony (Eicher) Roth.

On Nov. 22, 1945 she married Merlin Stutzman in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska.  He died May 10, 1963. On Aug. 11, 1979 she married Edwin Russell in South Bend.  He died Jan. 7, 1991. She then married Russell Hoover in Goshen on April 17, 1999.  He died Aug. 4, 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, Mavis (Steve) Miller of Goshen; a son, Gary (Rosemary) Stutzman of Lebanon, Oregon; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Jane Watson of Kearney, Nebraska.

Along with her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Merle Roth.

Arlene attended Harvest Community Church, Goshen. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Goshen General Hospital and later as a greeter at Walmart.  She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Friends may call Monday, December 11, 2017 from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.  Rev. Terry Tyler will officiate.

Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
