Arlene Marie Holdread

Arlene Marie Holdread, 98, of Goshen, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019 at Greencroft Goshen Health Care.

She was born Oct. 24, 1920 to Olen and Barbara (Mishler) Yoder in Middlebury.

On Oct. 6 1940 she married Gordon W. Holdread and they were married for 54 years. He passed away July 15, 1995.

Survivors include two children: Dr. Jon (Judy) Holdread, Columbus, and Barbara Adams, Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren, Kevin (Maria) Holdread, St. Augustine, Florida, Jennifer (David) King and Brooke Deweese, both of Columbus, and Joshua Jensen, Sedona, Arizona; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Vera Bickel, Gerald L. Yoder, Ralph Yoder, Verna Weaver, Velma Yoder, J. Olen Yoder and Doris Wortinger.

Arlene worked many years for The Goshen News and was a longtime member of Eighth Street Mennonite Church.

A memorial service will take place, October 29, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Pastor Brenda Sawatzky Paetkau, Eighth Street Mennonite Church, will officiate.

Burial will be in Violett Cemetery following the service.
