Arlene A. Harner

Arlene Albertina Harner, 96, of Chandler, Arizona, died Monday evening, September 22, 2008, at the home of her son. She was born January 8, 1912 in Ransom, Illinois to Eugene and Emma (Voigts) Sulzberger.  She married Harvey H. Harner on September 5, 1936 in Valparaiso, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on November 8, 1984. A homemaker, Mrs. Harner became a licensed Practical Nurse in 1962 and worked at Memorial Hospital and Healthland Hospital, both in South Bend, until her retirement. She is survived by a daughter, Jane Harner and a son, Ronald H. Harner, both of Chandler, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters, Laurett Sulzberger, Lucille Stauffenberg and Lodian Simonelli; and two brothers, Dorsey and Raymond Sulzberger. There will be no visitation and no services.  Burial will be at a later date in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
