Areena Gingerich

Areena M. Gingerich, 79, of Goshen, died Thursday, November 7, 2019 at her home.

She was born December 14, 1939 in Goshen to William and Pauline (Davis) Stringfellow.

On April 6, 1967 she married Melvin J. Gingerich.  He died June 25, 2008.

She is survived by two daughters, Roxanne Burgess and Vicki (Greg) Bernheisel, both of Syracuse; two sons, Doyle Gingerich and Alan Gingerich, also of Syracuse; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Gingerich, and two brothers, Wayne Stringfellow and Merle Morrow.

A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Gingerich retired from the R.V. Industry.  She attended Waterford Community Church and enjoyed Bingo, crossword puzzles and Wii bowling.  She stayed active volunteering at Greencroft.

Visitation will be Monday, November 11, 2019 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen where a 3 p.m. memorial service will be conducted.  Pastor Mike Overpeck will officiate.

Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
