Archie “Cliff” Green, 82, of Millersburg, died Tuesday evening, December 9, 2008, at Goshen General Hospital. He had been ill the past three years. He was born in Millersburg on May 18, 1926, to Osborn and Althea (Cobbum) Green. He married Grace Gilreath on August 3, 1946, in Covington, Kentucky. She survives. Mr. Green worked for Federal Paper in Elkhart for 43 years in addition to farming. Following his retirement he worked at Meijer and Menards. He was a member of Zion Community Church in Millersburg. A 1944 Concord High School, he served in the Army during World War II in France and Germany and received a bronze star. Mr. Green enjoyed farming, flower gardening, family and teasing. He is survived by his wife, Grace; two sons, Timothy Green of Millersburg, and Dennis (Jackie) Green of Pueblo, Colorado; a daughter, Debra (Doug) Bontrager of Sturgis, Michigan; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor Cox of Bay Town, Texas. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Eash, Mary Davis and Sara Bixler; and a brother, Merriel Doyt Green. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, December 14, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Bob Doane of Zion Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery, Millersburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Community Church.
