Antonio Alfonso Garcia, 60, of Goshen, died at his home Wednesday, July 2, 2014, after being diagnosed with lung cancer in December 2013. He was born June 17, 1954 in Belize City, Belize to Joe S. and Mazie V. (Menzie) Garcia. On November 26, 2011 he married Jennifer L. Makousky. She survives along with a daughter, Gina (Layne) Garcia, of Los Angeles; two sons, Joshua (Felicia) Garcia, of Elkhart, and Roman M. Makousky-Garcia, at home; a step-daughter, Kate (Gregory Riley, Jr.) Makousky, of Goshen; a step-son, Kevin Makousky, of Goshen; a granddaughter, Neveah Garcia; a brother, José Garcia; and a sister, Monica Garcia Moody, both of Los Angeles. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ignatius Garcia. Antonio served for ten years in the United States Army as a staff sergeant fulfilling his duties in 1991 after Operation Desert Storm. He worked as an auto mechanic at Pletcher Motor Co., Goshen and also enjoyed fishing when he had the chance. Visitation will be one hour prior to the 1:30 pm Saturday, July 5, 2014, memorial service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Father Anthony Steinacker, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church will officiate. Cremation will take place and burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen at a later date.
