Antonia Sawchuk, 91, of Goshen, died Tuesday morning, April 8, 2014, at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital. She was born December 1, 1922 near Naples, Italy, to Lorenzo and Anna Nacca. On November 25, 1955 she married Stefan Sawchuk in England. He died November 5, 2002. Surviving her is a son, Roman Sawchuk of Goshen, and a brother, Dodonno Nacca of England. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Terry Sawchuk, a brother, Genorrso Nacca and a sister Filomena Celato. Mrs. Sawchuk moved to the United States in 1960 and became a naturalized citizen in 1970. Locally she worked at Shasta and Coachman Industries in the cabinet shop. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. An avid gardener, she sold vegetables to Everett's grocery store at one time. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, funeral service all at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Father Anthony Steinacker will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial gifts may be directed to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
