AnnaBelle Bontreger, 84, of Goshen and formerly of Middlebury, died Sunday afternoon, August 20, 2014, surrounded by her husband of 65 years and close family at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital. She was born in Goshen on April 22, 1930 to Lewis H. and Winifred (Long) Nelson. AnnaBelle grew up as a neighbor to Clinton Frame Mennonite Church where she was a lifelong member. On March 6, 1949 she married Harold L. Bontreger. He survives along with two sons, Tim (Laurie) Bontreger of Goshen and Kent (Becky) Bontreger of Middlebury; three grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Stutzman, Kristian (Shana) Bontreger and Tori (Brad) Blosser, seven great grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, Jamie and Michael Cross. She was preceded in death by her parents, a great-granddaughter, Abigail Susan Bontreger and two brothers, Richard and Robert Nelson. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church where a 6:30 p.m., memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, August 13, 2014. Pastors Terry Diener and Matt Yoder will officiate. She was a 1948 graduate of Millersburg High School. AnnaBelle retired as a secretary for Middlebury Produce, the family business. Prior to her illness, she was known for her hospitality and impeccable housekeeping. A private burial will take place in Clinton Frame Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Clinton Frame Mennonite Church.
