Anna L. Schwalm, 87, of Venice, Florida and formerly of Goshen, died Tuesday, May 15, 2018 after an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 20, 1930 in Goshen to Nicolas and Harriet (Flager) Douma.
On Aug. 26, 1953 she married Dean Schwalm. He died Nov. 27, 2014.
Survivors include two children, Timothy of Indianapolis and Lucinda (Paul) Bowers of Venice, Florida; six grandchildren, Winston, Carson, Alexandri a and Ryan (Nicole) Schwalm, Erin (Charlie) Wysong and Jennifer (Jesse) Beam; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Betty Huffman of Elkhart , Jacqueline Yoder and Roberta (Orval) Burkholder, both of Goshen.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Wynn Schwalm in 2016.
A 1948 graduate of Goshen High School, Anna attended First United Methodist Church, Goshen and was a longtime member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren. For many years Anna and Dean enjoyed living on Syracuse Lake. She also enjoyed travelling, gardening and oil painting. With her Florida friends, she enjoyed playing dominoes and crocheting.
Anna worked as a bookkeeper in the family business, Goshen Auto Electric and Brake Service.
Friends may call Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2018 funeral service will be held. Family friend, Tim Yoder, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Heifer International.
