Anna C. Martin, 82, of Goshen died at her daughter's home early Wednesday morning, November 16, 2011. She had been in declining health the past year. She was born in Dayton, Virginia, on July 15, 1929 to the late Ephriam and Katie (Blosser) Lahman. She married Leon V. Martin on December 2, 1951 in Goshen. He died August 3, 2006. She is survived by four daughters, Charlotte Putnam of Goshen, Sandra (Titus) Martin of Narvon, Pennsylvania, Wanda (Linford) Bontrager, and Betty (Jacob) Gingerich, both of Goshen; five sons, DeWayne (Beverly) Martin of Goshen, Leroy (Carolyn) Martin of Wakarusa, Roger (Linda) Martin of New Market, Virginia, Fred (Anna) Martin of Sarasota, Florida, and Dana (Sheila) Martin of Haiti; and 38 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Charlotte Martin of Goshen, and Ruth (Naaman) Martin of Wakarusa. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Cal Putnam; a grandson, Trent Martin; and four brothers, Wilmer, John, Roy and Lester Lahman. A member of Salem Mennonite Church, Mrs. Martin was famous for her pie making and known for her donuts. She enjoyed quilting. Along with her husband, she owned the restaurant at the Elkhart Farmers' Market. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 18, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, November 19 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2011, funeral service will be conducted at Salem Mennonite Church, New Paris. The Home Ministry will officiate. Burial will follow in Salem Mennonite Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Witness Mission.
