On May 9, 2026 Anna “Louise” Vaughn, (aka Gramma Weezie), age 84, finished her race, and walked into the arms of Jesus.
She was born July 28, 1941, to Daniel and Gracie ( Holbrook) Akers in Big Jenny, WVA.
She married Franklin D Vaughn, on January 22, 1960, in Iaeger, WVA. They were married 64 years before his death May 24, 2024.
She worked at Johnson Controls for 30 years before retiring.
Her greatest legacy is that she shared the Lord with whoever she met. She attended Lifepoint church ( formally First Church of God)where she taught Sunday School, helped with the Youth, Bible School, served on the Evangelism team, and sang in the choir. She cherished her friends there!
Anna has shared her faith and has helped lead many people to the Lord. Her home was always a home for people who needed a safe haven, or a meal!!
She is survived by her four children, Sandy(Mike) Parson of New Paris, Franklin “Lance” Vaughn of Goshen, Patty (Doyle)LeCroy, Louisiana, and Tim (Iryna) Vaughn of Middlebury. One sister Betty Hawkins Princeton, WVA
13 Grandchildren, Kelly, Mike, Jason, Matthew, Rebecca, Dylan, Kayla, Anna, Daniel, Travis, Justin, Tyler and Megan! 12 Great Grandchildren, Taylor, Abby, Ben, Carter, Nathan Hailey, Samantha, Katie, Conner, Emma, Liem and Oliver and one Great Great Granddaughter Ellie!!
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter in law Cindy Vaughn, 5 brothers, and two sisters.
We are so thankful for the staff at Penny Lane at the Restoracy in Goshen, past and present. They have been so amazing with my mom. They not only cared for her but loved her. She loved to tell them all kinds of stories!
Our hearts are sad, but our separation is only temporary, for one day we will be reunited in the presence of our Lord.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 15, 2026, at Lifepoint Church from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m., also at the church. Burial will follow at New Paris Cemetery.
