Anna N. Kauffman

Anna N. Kauffman, 85, of Goshen, died Wednesday afternoon, July 13, 2011, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. She was born in Osceola on January 16, 1926, to the late Floyd and Nellie (Daugherty) Miller. She married Elmer J. Kauffman on August 25, 1944, in South Carolina. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Judy (Larry) Hicks of Goshen, and Sharon (Dale) Schilling, Muskegon, Michigan; four grandchildren, Julie Schilling, April (Alex) Hicks Lo, John (Sandy) Schilling, and Amy (Geoff) Hicks Mitchell; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Timothy; and a sister, Pauline Smith, Osceola. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. A Goshen resident since 2002, Mrs. Kauffman, with her husband, owned and operated Gospel Book Store and the House of Flavors, both in Cadillac, Michigan. After retirement they enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Winter Haven, Florida, and summers in Lake City, Michigan. Anna loved the Lord and enjoyed quilting. There will be no public visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka. A 2:00 p.m. public memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Plymouth United Church of Christ. Pastor Larry Hicks, son-in-law, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Emily's House, 1212 Waterford Circle Goshen, IN 46526.
