Angela Dawn Miller, 39, of Elkhart, died early Thursday morning, January 22, 2009, at Elkhart General Hospital following complications from open heart surgery in November and pneumonia in December. She was born in Goshen on June 9, 1969, to the late Roscoe R. Miller and Helen (Fry) Miller of New Paris. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1987, Manchester College in 1992 and had just recently received her master’s degree from IUSB. Ms. Miller lived in Goshen until nine years ago when she moved to Elkhart. She was a special education teacher at Jimtown Middle School for 14 years. She is survived by her mother, Helen Miller; an adopted son, Landon Miller, two and a half years old; a sister, Amber Miller of Ramsey, Minnesota; four half sisters, Linda Thomas of Middlebury, Charlotte Begley of New Paris, Diana Lantz of Ligonier and Debbie Miller of Elkhart; four half brothers, Charles (Michelle) Lantz of Fairland, Indiana, Michael (Melissa) Miller and Dale (Darlene) Miller, both of Goshen, and Dean Miller of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her father, Roscoe R. Miller in December 2004, and a half brother, Daniel Miller. Friends may call 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, January 25, at the funeral home. An 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 26, 2009, will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. John Drexler of First Brethren Church, Goshen, will officiate. Burial will be in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made for the care of Landon Miller.
