Andrew Duane Yoder, 88, of Mission, Texas, formerly of Goshen, passed away on August 19, 2024, in Mission, Texas. He was born February 5, 1936, in Yoder, Kansas, to Daniel and Elizabeth (Yoder) Yoder.
Andrew married Iwana L. (Kincaid) Karpinski on December 31, 1982, in Bristol, Indiana. She passed away December 20, 2014.
Surviving are daughters Sherri Colpitts, South Bend, Karla (Kip) Berkey, Elkhart; sons, Terry Yoder, Elkhart, Carey (Darlene) Yoder, Goshen, Andrew (Kelly) Yoder, Elkhart; step-daughter Debbie (Brian) Kerns, Goshen; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; and 4 step great-grandchildren; sister, Nadine Brewster, Florida; and brother Merle (Mary) Yoder, Millersburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-son Randy Karpinski, and siblings Freda Martin, Omer Yoder, and Esther Bontrager.
Mr. Yoder was a very talented fast pitch softball player and bowler, where he earned titles in the Goshen’s Hall of Fame for both sports. He played shuffleboard and also created “A-Man” Karaoke. Andrew was a member of the Goshen Moose Lodge, DAV, Elks, American Legion, and Eagles.
A private burial will take place at Oakridge Cemetery in Goshen. A celebration of life in his honor will be Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Goshen DAV.
