Amelia E. Gingerich, 92, of Goshen, died Monday morning, September 3, 2012, at her home. She was born March 20, 1920, in Wolford, North Dakota, to the late Daniel and Fannie (Zook) Yoder. She married Jacob B. Gingerich December 19, 1943 in Loogootee. He died May 13, 2007. She is survived by five daughters, Elizabeth (Larry) Jones of Bristol, Pauline (Leon) Liechty of Lillian, Alabama, Delores Kauffman of Pensacola, Florida, Sharon (Loren) Classen of Goshen, and Debra (Ken) Wolfe of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania; two sons, Jacob (Dawn) Gingerich, Jr. of Durango, Colorado, and William (Karla) Gingerich of Bellefontaine, Ohio; 25 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Marjean Yutzy, a brother, Paul Yoder; and a grandson, Mark Liechty. Mrs. Gingerich moved to Goshen about five years ago after living in Minnesota for 40 years and 10 years in Ligonier. She wintered in Alabama and Florida and enjoyed traveling to visit family members. A homemaker, she enjoyed flower gardening and baking. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 7, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and from 9 to 9:45 a.m., Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Maple City Chapel where a 10 a.m. funeral service will be conducted. Rev. Gary Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorial contributions may be made to Maple City Chapel where Mrs. Gingerich attended when she was able.
