Amanda Yoder, 86, of Millersburg, died late Sunday morning, October 4, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital.  She had been ill since August 2002 with cancer. She was born in Midland, Michigan, on July 14, 1923, to the late, Jacob and Joanna (Helmuth) Miller.  She married Alvin Yoder on February 1, 1945 in Arthur, Illinois.  He survives. A homemaker, Mrs. Yoder was a member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church.  She pieced and finished quilts for all of her children and grandchildren.  She made quilts for her church and local festivals. She is survived by her husband; four daughters, Brenda (Lavern) Hochstetler of Millersburg, and Shirley (Marlin) Mast, Doris (John) Schwartz, and Carol (Elmer, Jr.) Miller, all of Middlebury; two sons, Larry (Cindy) Yoder and Ray (Jeannette) Yoder, both of Goshen; 14 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 20  step-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Lydia Herschberger of Goshen, Mary Kauffman of Arthur, Illinois, and Esther Schmucker of Nappanee. She was preceded in death by six sisters, Lovina Hochstetler, Kate Troyer, Dora Bender, Susie Helmuth, Anna Graber and Clara Kauffman; and two brothers, Ezra and Peter Miller. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, and 9 to 10 a.m., Thursday, at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, Goshen. A 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 8, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church.  Pastors Terry Diener and Jeff Mumaw will officiate. Burial will be in Clinton Frame Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Center for Cancer Care, Goshen Care at Home Hospice or Clinton Frame Mennonite Church Building Fund.
