Amanda E. Nisly, 88, of Goshen, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Friday, October 4, 2024 at Goshen Hospital.
She was born in Tuscola, Illinois to Emery and Lydia Ann (Schrock) Gingerich.
On November 3, 1962 she married Albert Nisly in Arthur, Illinois.
He survives, along with twin daughters, Denette (Don) Showalter and Debra O’Bryant both of Goshen and two grandchildren, Dexter O’Bryant, Goshen and Preston (partner Amanda) O’Bryant, Los Angeles, California.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Lester Gingerich.
Amanda came from an Amish family, and she was very proud of her ancestry. She retired from Goshen High School where she worked in the cafeteria, prior to that she worked in the bakery department at Everett’s Linway Foods Supermarket. Her greatest enjoyment was her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and was an excellent baker. She was a member of Clinton Frame Church.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, October 14 and Tuesday from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Clinton Frame Church. Pastors Amos Yoder and Pastor Ken Bontreger will officiate.
Private burial will take place following services.
Memorial donations may be directed to American Heart Association.
