Alvin J Miller, 82, died Friday, August 1, 2025 at his home after a 10-month battle with Multiple Myeloma.
He was born March 10, 1943, at home in Middlebury to John B and Susie (Hershberger) Miller.
He married Marcella Yoder on July 7, 1962, in Centreville, Michigan. She preceded him death on April 26, 2023.
Surviving are four children, Allen Yoder of Elkhart, Jeffrey (Deb) Miller of Mishawaka, Della (Bill) Rackley of Elkhart and Melinda Miller of Mishawaka; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Polly Miller of Middlebury.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marcella, a great-grandson, Bentlee Johnson, brother Melvin J Miller, sister Mary J Schmucker and sister Darlene J Hochstetler.
Alvin worked in the RV industry for many years, retiring from Forest River. He was a jack of all trades and could build or fix anything. He was one of the owners of DNA Enterprises in Goshen. He and Marcella had a boat on Lake Michigan for many years and enjoyed salmon fishing. After retirement, they purchased a travel trailer and their love for camping began. Eventually, they purchased a permanent lot at Foxwood Hills Campground and made lots of special friends and memories. His dog, Squeaky, brought him much joy over the last 2 years.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 4 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Pastor Michael Pennington will officiate. There will be visitation prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m.
According to his wishes, his cremated remains will be buried at Thomas Cemetery, next to his beautiful wife, Marcella, and their beloved dog, Sox, Goshen.
