Alun G. Rees, 64, of New Paris, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, February 25, 2023. He was surrounded by his family at home.
Alun was born October 19, 1958, to J. Les and Olga (Smith) Rees in Wednesbury, Staffordshire, England. He graduated from Wawasee High School in 1976. He later received a Bachelor’s in Theology from Indiana Fundamental Bible College.
On June 18, 1988, he married Lois Johnson in Tipton, Iowa. She survives.
He is also survived by 3 children: Abigail Rees and David Rees, both of New Paris, and Anna Rees of Syracuse; his father, J.Les (Audrey) Rees; and five siblings: Gwilym (Tammy) Rees, Stella Rees, Julia Summerville, Charles (Nao) Rees, and Andrew (Jody) Martinez.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Alun was a longtime member of Grace Bible Baptist Church, New Paris, and served in many capacities there. He was a truck mechanic and then worked in the printing industry with his final employment being at World Missionary Press. Alun enjoyed reading, trains, pipe organ music, and history-especially World War II history.
All services will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 2 to 6 pm, and the funeral service on Thursday, March 2, at 11 am. Pastor Joel Wallenbeck will officiate.
Burial will follow at Baintertown Cemetery, New Paris.
