Alta Joan McClain

Alta Joan McClain, 94, of Goshen died Monday, February 23, 2026 at Majestic Care of Goshen.

She was born December 19, 1931 in Syracuse to John and Alta Bernice (Rockenbaugh) Paugh.

In 1963 she married Hubert McClain. He died on May 27, 2003.

Joan is survived by her siblings; Barbara Bashor, Philip Paugh and Peggy Feightner.

Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Alpha Jean Kitchen.

She graduated from New Paris High School and was employed at Johnson Controls for many years as well as working as a beautician. Joan and her husband Hubert were also residents of Florida for many years.

There will be no public services at this time.
