Alpha Marie Smothers Greider

Alpha Marie Smothers Greider, 75, of Goshen, died late Saturday night, February 14, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital. She was born on March 8, 1933, in Grayson County, Kentucky, to Barney and nora (Mercer) Meredith. A Goshen resident since 1972, Mrs. Greider retired from Goshen Rubber and then worked at Walmart.  She volunteered at The Window. She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (Dave) Martin and Vicky (Mike) Laws, both of Goshen; four sons, Earl R. (Kathy) Smothers, Jr. and Walter Stanley Smothers, both of Goshen, James D. (Sandy) Smothers of Philadelphia, Tennessee, and Steve Tony (Betty) Smothers of Connersville, Indiana; 21 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Jean Smothers; two granddaughters, Nicky Jean Lloyd and Christie Love Smothers; two sisters; and three brothers. Friends may call 10 a.m., to 12, noon, on Wednesday, February 18 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a noon funeral service will be conducted.  Rev. Brother Billy Lamb of the Goshen Pentecostal House of Prayer will officiate. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be made to the Smothers Family, c/o Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
