Alfert A. “Al” Rheinheimer, 88, of Elkhart and formerly of Middlebury, died early Monday evening, November 5, 2007, at Elkhart General Hospital. A lifelong resident of the area, Mr. Rheinheimer was born in Middlebury on November 14, 1918 to Clayton and Maude (Miller) Rheinheimer.  He married Elizabeth Schrock in New Mexico on February 4, 1945.  She died June 10, 1985. A member of First Mennonite Church, Middlebury, he was a World War II Army Air Corp Veteran. He owned and operated AERCO Products and delivered RVs for Jayco. He is survived by two daughters, Karla (Lester) Furney of Safety Harbor, Florida, and Lynette Rheinheimer of Goshen; a son, Alan D. (Sandy) Rheinheimer of Elkhart; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Schrock of Goshen, and Esther (Floyd) Hoover of Elkhart; and three brothers, Floyd A. Rheinheimer of Goshen and Ivan (Evelyn) Rheinheimer and Ernest Rheinheimer, both of Apache Junction, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, Maynard and John Rheinheimer and a sister, Lois Blosser. Friends will be received 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 9 and the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. A 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 10, 2007, funeral service will be conducted at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury.  Rev. Linford Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Gracelawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association
