Agnes “Faye” Troyer, 84, of Goshen passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016 surrounded by her family and friends at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
She was born April 6, 1932 in Steele, Missouri to Carl Leslie and Effie L. Vater (Gurley) Thompson.
On January 24, 1953 she married LeRoy D. Troyer in Goshen. He died May 22, 2002.
Survivors include a daughter, Rita (Thomas) Jordan of South Bend; a sister, Lucille Lair of Eureka, Missouri; grandchildren, Stephanie (Daric) Gessinger, Carson Callihan, Angela (Kyle) Lamb and Laura Yoder; step-grandchildren, Jay (Amy) Jordan and Justin (Mayra) Jordan; great grandchildren, Austin Bender, Luke, Landen and Jadyn Gessinger, Kelcy, Trenton and Eliott Callihan, Mason Rice and Kennedy Lamb; and step great grandchildren, Ryan and Rachael Phelan, Isabella Jordan, Ari, Brian and Ronaldo Cooper.
Along with her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Karen Diane Callihan and Donna Yvonne Troyer; granddaughter, Kristina Callihan; sisters, Louise Sipes, Lorainne, Eva and Madie Thompson; and brothers, Vester, Charles, James and Ernest Thompson.
Faye was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, niece and friend. She lived a full and wonderful life. She worked outside the home at Judd Drugs Store where she met and made many friends. She cherished her time going out to breakfast and playing cards with these awesome ladies. You all were so close and dear to her heart.
I, as her daughter would like to thank everyone that touched my Mother’s life, especially Dale and Connie Heisey and Ruth (Knepp) Bontrager. You helped her so very much by giving her help and advice throughout the years. I also wish to thank John Dexler and her church family for all the love and support you gave her. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and nursing aids at Goshen Hospital.
Agnes was a member of the First Brethren Church of Goshen. She enjoyed bowling and watching the NBA Bulls whenever possible.
Friends may call Monday, August 1, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Pastors John Drexler, Mel Shetler and Harley Troyer will officiate.
Burial will follow at Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.
