Adam John Everett Minnis, age 49, of Syracuse, passed away on January 20, 2026, at his home. He was born on May 2, 1976, in McHenry, Illinois, to William Everett Minnis and Karen Jean (Sheets) Minnis.
Adam married Renée Marie (Rakoczy) Minnis in September of 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Jean Minnis and granddaughter Ellie Joy Minnis.
He is survived by his wife, Renée Marie Minnis; his father, William Everett Minnis; his children, Harrison (Katie) Minnis of Bremen and Theodore Minnis of Nappanee; his granddaughter, Rowan; and his siblings, Jennifer (Donald) Bloom of Goshen and Brian (Lauren) Minnis of Goshen.
Adam was a hardworking man who spent much of his career driving mixer trucks for Smith Ready Mix. He also worked as an over-the-road semi driver and owned a business hauling straw to racetracks. He attended Northridge High School.
Adam lived life in the fast lane. A true “need for speed” man, he loved motorcycles—especially his Harley—and had a passion for driving fast. He was known for his sense of humor and quick wit, always ready with a joke. Adam made friends wherever he went, leaving everyone he met laughing and feeling welcomed. He was a big man with an even bigger heart and an unforgettable personality. He enjoyed social hour and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Humane Society of Kosciusko County.
