Abram P. Hallman, 105, of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 in Hilton Head Island. He was born in Kitchner, Ontario, December 8, 1905 to the late Eli S. and Malinda C. (Clemens) Hallman. He married Esther Yoder December 25, 1936 in West Liberty, Ohio. He also married Lois Y. Yoder in West Liberty October 20, 1973. Both of his wives preceded him in death. He is survived by a daughter, Joanne (Douglas) Dahl of Hilton Head, South Carolina; seven grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and a sister, Anna (Frank) Byler. He was preceded in death by a son, James D. Hallman; and three brothers, Clemens, George and William. A former Goshen resident, Mr. Hallman served on the Board of Directors for Mennonite Mutual Aid, Goshen for 20 years and of Menno Travel Service of Ephrata, Pennsylvania for 22 years. He graduated from Goshen College in 1931 and was a member of College Mennonite Church. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2011 at College Mennonite Church with Rev. Lester Graybill officiating. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2011. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen College Athletic Department or MCC.
