Myrtle J. "Jo" Norton Graber                                                                                        

Myrtle J. “Jo” Norton Graber, 81, formerly of Goshen and Syracuse, died Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at the Newport Rehabilitation and Specialty Care, Newport, Oregon. 

She was born January 19, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan, to George and Mamie Showers.  In March of 1945 she married Harry L. Norton.  He died April 18, 1970.

Prior to her move to Newport six years ago, Mrs. Graber had been involved with many Wawasee Lake activities, including the annual flotilla in the early years.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Vince) Leo of Columbia City, Indiana, and Joanna (Tony) Yoder of Newport, Oregon; a son, Rick (Denise) Norton of Carol Stream, Illinois; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a granddaughter, Nancy Allison Yoder; and a brother, Chet Crites.

Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2006, at Violett Cemetery for a graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Nancy Allison Yoder Memorial Scholarship Fund at Goshen High School or to the Goshen High School Music Department.
